| Provide a short paragraph stating why the project is best administered by the Coastal Institute. | A central aim of West Africa ASSESS URI #3 is to advance knowledge and contribute to the development of solutions to economic growth challenges in 21 West African countries, 11 of which are coastal and all of which depend on coastal ecosystems for human and economic well-being. The project will monitor, evaluate, analyze, provide technical assistance, build local capacity, and support collaboration, learning and adapting agendas of U.S. government agencies in the generation and application of evidence for policy and decision making on the sub-regions' economic growth, biodiversity, and climate change issues, including those both directly and indirectly linked to coastal zones and coastal resource management. |
