Provide a short paragraph stating why the project is best administered by the Coastal Institute. | This study aims to better understand the recruitment dynamics of the southern New England lobster fishery, which has historically been a mainstay of Rhode Island fishing communities. By sampling larval and juvenile lobsters, we will update and extend data sets that were initiated by URI researchers in the 1980s and 1990s. Understanding the processes regulating recruitment is imperative for rebuilding the southern New England lobster stock. |
