Provide a short paragraph stating why the project is best administered by the Coastal Institute.

This project addresses the Coastal Institute vision to advance knowledge and develop solutions to problems related to coastal ecosystems. The proposed NNA-CO is designed to bring together stakeholders across the Arctic region to share research results, establish new research priorities, foster cross-project collaborative activities, and integrate traditional knowledge about Arctic change, including critical changes to coastal regions due to ice and permafrost melt, subsistence hunting, health issues due to the changing climate, etc. This proposal also addresses the mission and goals of the CI to increase understanding of the relationships between human activity and the condition of the coastal environment and its resources, particularly as they affect Arctic coastal residents.
