Biography

Ny Aina has over 16 years of experience in natural resource management, with 11 years specializing in marine policy in Madagascar. He has been a key contributor to Madagascar’s first operational Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) framework and national mangrove strategy.

As Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Madagascar Marine Project, he leads initiatives empowering local actors in fisheries and marine governance. He has been a strong advocate for Locally Managed Marine Areas (LMMAs), supporting community-driven marine conservation.

His expertise includes coastal policy development, community engagement, and professionalizing marine management. As a Senior Coastal Fellow, he aims to share best practices and collaborate on global coastal resilience efforts.
