My broad research interests are in science writing and environmental communication, and more specifically in understanding community engagement with science through socio-historical, technological, and creative methods. My research engages with environmental justice in costal issues, specifically the ways that advocates and science communicators can mediate large-scale problems, such as oceanic climate change and watershed degradation, in ways which are meaningful within local communities through emerging locative media platforms and experiential education.
