Fara Warner

Biography

Fara Warner is the executive director of the Metcalf Institute at the University of Rhode Island. The Institute advances the public’s understanding of climate and environmental science by supporting critical networks of communicators, including journalists, scientists, policy makers and more through fellowships, trainings, lectures and other programming. She is the former climate director at Solutions Journalism Network and has held editorial leadership positions at The Wall Street Journal, Aol Inc., and Newsweek/DailyBeast. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Metcalf supports the Coastal Institute by collaborating with professors and researchers to bring their science and research to the public and to Metcalf’s trainings and fellowships, notably the Annual Science Immersion Workshop for Journalists.
