Biography

Ben Charo is a PhD candidate in Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Rhode Island’s College of the Environment and Life Sciences. His research focuses on coral reef social-ecological systems in the Coral Triangle, particularly the factors that influence climate adaptation for coastal fishing communities and for the reef ecosystems they rely upon. Ben aims to produce coral reef science with conservation relevance for local communities and is proud to collaborate with multiple transdisciplinary conservation teams. When he’s not working, Ben can most often be found running, cycling, or cooking something (he hopes will be) delicious.
