Biography

Ariel Quintanilla (he/him) is a Ph.D. student in Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Rhode Island’s College of the Environment and Life Sciences. He is a human geographer and sociologist who has worked on different research projects in coastal communities in El Salvador, specifically using mixed methodology in research for community-based management in mangrove forests. CuECrrently, he is working on marine resource dependence and food security in priority species for small-scale fisheries in Latin America to involve innovative approaches in Ecosystem-Based Fisheries Management in the Global South.
