Biography
Amber Neville serves as Assistant Director of the Coastal Institute, working closely with the Director on strategic planning, research development, and institutional coordination. She supports proposal development, oversees communications and digital strategy, and helps structure multi-investigator initiatives that span environmental health, coastal resilience, and policy engagement.
Her work focuses on research translation, information architecture, and public-facing knowledge systems. She designs structured content workflows, integrates emerging AI tools into science communication practice, and strengthens the Institute’s ability to translate complex interdisciplinary research into accessible, decision-relevant formats. Prior to joining the Coastal Institute, she worked at URI’s Coastal Resources Center developing digital systems and supporting statewide ocean and coastal management planning efforts.
She holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Rhode Island.
