The Office of Marine Programs outreach efforts are focused in the areas of marine and environmental education and science communications. Preparing citizens of today for the life of tomorrow requires that they learn differently and acquire new kinds of information resulting in a better understanding of their relationship with the environment. OMP projects incorporate the findings of coastal and marine scientists and management and education professionals along with basic science concepts in programming for a variety of audiences including students and teachers, journalists, and the general public.
