During much of my career at URI/GSO, I was with the UNOLS Office which manages the national fleet of academic research fleet. Operations of these vessels span the world’s oceans, including science expeditions in coastal zones. I also headed the Ocean Observatories Initiative Facility Board office, which provided feedback on NSF’s suite of systems including the coastal observatories.
Outside of work, I am a member of Narrow River Preservation Association's (NRPA) Advisory Board. I have also served as the volunteer coordinator for NRPA’s River Watch Program since its start in 1992. The River Watch program monitors 13 to 15 locations along the Narrow River, with approximately 30 volunteers participating each year. The River is an approximately seven-mile-long tidal inlet located in Southern Rhode Island.
