Biography

Ernest’s research focuses on aquaculture and marine sustainability, advancing coastal shellfisheries, fisheries, and aquaculture to address challenges in food security, poverty alleviation, and climate resilience. His leadership on the maiden West Africa regional assessment of women-led shellfisheries across eleven countries and support for the operationalization of the West Africa Shellfish Knowledge and Outreach Hub are coastal career highlights. These were collaborative efforts between the Centre for Coastal Management (Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience), University of Cape Coast, and the Coastal Resources Center, University of Rhode Island. He is committed to research, teaching, and mentoring, and open to collaborations in sustainable seafood and coastal resource governance.
