Biography

My background is in coastal engineering, with a focus on nearshore hydrodynamics, coastal processes, and ocean wave modeling. Through lab experiments, numerical simulations, and fieldwork, my research investigates the complex interactions between waves, currents, sediments, and coastal features such as vegetation, with the goal of understanding how natural and nature-based solutions can reduce wave impacts, mitigate sediment erosion, and strengthen coastal resilience.

By bridging foundational research with practical application, I work to explore sustainable strategies that protect coastlines and support long-term adaptation to climate change and rising sea levels. In line with Coastal Institute’s goals to promote innovative, interdisciplinary responses to climate challenges, my work seeks to provide coastal communities with insights that help build a more resilient future through collaboration with CI.
