Biography

I am a National Park Service ecologist with an adjunct associate professor appointment to the University of Rhode Island’s Department of Natural Resources Science. My research focus with the National Park Service has primarily centered on designing and implementing long-term natural resource monitoring programs. I have been actively involved with monitoring forest vegetation, birds, wetlands, rocky intertidal sites, and phenology; some of these projects now have more than fifteen years of data. My current role is Science Advisor for the National Park Service Northeast Region and North Atlantic Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Research Coordinator. As a science advisor, I work on projects with regional impact, such as supporting park efforts to implement deer management, collaborating with partners to support science communication of regional initiatives, and seeking opportunities to enhance indigenous community engagement with natural resource activities. My work with the CESU sees me collaborating with the Coastal Institute to support research, technical assistance, and education through a network of federal and non-federal partners.
