Biography

I am an interdisciplinary aquatic ecologist, working as a research fellow for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Through research and science communication, I seek to further societal understanding of the environmental challenges that threaten our water resources, from climate change to invasive species to nutrient pollution.

My current research focuses on improving computational models to study and predict nutrient pollution and harmful algal blooms in the Great Lakes region. Both my current and past research have strong relevance to coastal community resilience, public health, and ecosystem health. As a science communicator, I am passionate about developing equitable and accessible tools to communicate science.

I hold a M.S. in Biological and Environmental Sciences from the University of Rhode Island and a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Rhode Island.
