Kim graduated with a MA in Marine Affairs in 2020 and served as a John A. Knauss Fellow in 2021, where she was placed working in the National Science Foundation's Office of Polar Programs. She currently works at Rhode Island Sea Grant as their Workforce Development and Research Coordinator. Kim's research interests include marine policy, decision making and she has a background in evolution and ecology. When not at work, Kim likes to spend time running along the shoreline and exploring coastal communities.
